200.03 EMERGENCY CALLBACK

I.           Whenever operational conditions are such that additional personnel are required, one or more off-duty personnel may be called back to duty.

II.         Emergency callbacks shall be initiated at the request of the incident commander, off-duty personnel shall be called by Dispatch and requested to return to duty. Off-duty personnel shall be instructed to either staff reserve apparatus or respond directly to the incident.

Unless otherwise advised, all personnel answering an emergency callback shall respond to the incident. It may be necessary to move personnel to other stations to properly staff reserve apparatus.

All off-duty personnel requested to respond directly to an incident shall report to the staging officer for assignment. At no time shall a member begin any task without authorization from either the staging officer or the incident commander.

When receiving a call for emergency callback, you are expected to respond in a timely manner. Sometimes personnel are unable to respond, but all efforts should be made to report for duty.
