100.00 - ORGANIZATION OF DEPARTMENT -DIVISIONS I. The work of the department is performed by four (4) divisions under the direction of the Fire Chief. The divisions are: (1) Administrative, (2) Fire Firefighting, (3) Training and (4) Fire Prevention & Investigation. A. Administrative

B. Firefighting

C. Training Division
1. Training Officer D. Fire Prevention and Investigation 1. Fire Marshal II. The member’s of the department in order of their rank are as follows: A. Fire Chief - oversee operations of Fire Department B. Captains - in charge of their assigned fire station and company firefighting operations during their assigned shift and are under the immediate supervision of their Chief. C. Drivers - in charge of their assigned apparatus and company firefighting operations during their assigned shift and are under the immediate supervision of their Captain. D. Firefighters - responsible for protecting lives and property from fire and other emergency, perform other duties as assigned and are under the supervision of their Captain / Driver.
III. Platoon System
A. The three (3) platoon system shall be used in the firefighting division. B. The regular change of platoons shall be at 7:30 a.m. each day, at which time the roll call of members shall be under the direction of the officer. Chronic tardiness shall be considered a cause for disciplinary action. C. Officers shall not permit their platoon to go off duty until properly relieved. D. The Captain of the relieving platoon shall, in case the off-duty platoon is out at an incident, call roll at company quarters, and if the company is likely to be at the incident for some time, shall proceed to the scene with his platoon and report to the Chief Officer in charge. |
